Someone New
By: Jeff
[WAD-R HQ]

(Jeffy's funeral is a night away. Faenix is in his room covering all of his stuff with aluminum foil. Angel is away at the funeral parlor preparing for the upcoming funeral. Fenrir and Sender are in the computer sector playing Doom, and having a chat argue about who sucks most at Doom. Akari and Garr sit on the couch in Level C of the HQ reading some old books Garr took up from the small book library downstairs.)

[WAD-R HQ: Level C]

Garr: This book is great.

Akari: What is it?

Garr: It's an ONLY IF rulebook for D&D.

Akari: Looks old.

Garr: Well to tell you the truth, I can barely understand this. I will need to translate.

Akari: Go for it. The only thing I have to read is...er...this

(Akari holds up a book, which is labeled " 101 Ways to Seduce A Guy". Garr coughs trying to hide his laugh)

(Akari notices the label)

Akari: * Tossing the book out the window * SICK!

[WAD-R HQ: Front Door]

Bell: Ding-Dong!

(A little kid about the age of 7 stands at the door. A stack of papers in his hands.)

Kid: HELLO?

(Fenrir quickly peeks out from the kitchen where he is making a sandwich on his Doom break.)

Fenrir: GO AWAY! WE DON'T WANT YOUR GIRLY COOKIES

Kid: I'm not a girls scout, I'm here to give you guys a story.

Fenrir: NO ONES HOME!

Kid: Dammit!

(The kid swiftly kicks down the door)

Door: OUCH!

FenrirShit!

Kid: NOW! Your gonna take this story, OR IM GONNA HAVE TO DO SOMETHING NOT SO VERY NICE!

Fenrir: HOW DID YOU DO THAT?

Kid: ohThat's my counterpart. He

FENRIR: YOUR IN! Want a tour?

Kid: Wow! That was easy. Sure!

(Fenrir begins to show the kid around HQ)

[WAD-R HQ: Level C]

Fenrir: And this is our dumb serious

**SMACK**

Garr: Akari!

Akari: Well! Fenrir is looking for it

Voice from nowhere: True, very true.

Garr: Who was that?

Fenrir: Told you Jeff's voice is wandering around.

Kid: Wow! How, odd. I LOVE IT!

Garr: This kid better not be selling candy.

Kid: GRRRRRRRRRRRR!

(Fenrir explains who the kid is to Garr, and Akari)

[Dead Peeps 2K Funeral Parlor]

Old dead looking guy with eerie voice: I believe you will be very happy with our funeral services.

Angel: I hope so. * A sad look on her face *

Angel's head: I wonder what's going on with WAD-R?

[WAD-R HQ]

(Sender, Fenrir and the new kid sit around playing Doom: WAD-R Twisted Weekend M-player. Akari and Garr are where they were before.)

GARR: OH MY GOD!

Akari: Yea?

Garr: Read this!

(Akari looks at the page of the AD&D IF SO book Garr is reading)

Akari: It says moshafigian lostove muftsad loginotiush dak.

Garr: NO! You know what this means?

Akari: Something evil?

Garr: NO IT READS...A I will quote

"Only when a willing character is present to be sacrificed, It IS ALLOWED for a dark elf to be resurrected. Note** ONCE IN A LIFETIME ONLY**"

Akari: JEFF!

Garr: YEA! HEY NEWBIE KID COME HERE

[Dead Peeps 2K Funeral Parlor]

(Angel lays her hands on Jeffy's coffin. Tears raining down her face.)

Angel: I'm gonna miss you love...

--continues--

Voice in the coffin: ERR.... Something smells..

(Angel, turned away from the coffin, open her eyes wide, and takes off out of the room screaming.)

Voice: HEY! DAMNIT THIS SUCK! Oxygen...getting...low......can't....take in.....ai * Passes out *

[WAD-R HQ: Kitchen]

Garr: Hehehehe!

Akari: *shaking head* I can't believe that...

Faenix: I can't believe I MISSED THAT

Fenrir: Am I evil or what?

(VOICE)

God: Yes, that is why your never coming to the promised land.

Fenrir: WELL...WELL....GO AWAY!

(A chair begins to levitate and breaks over Fenrir's body)

Fenrir: GAHHHH!

(The front door open, and seconds later Seth walks in)

Garr: Good Eve

Sender: HEY!

Akari: Been a while?

Faenix: Who the...

*Interupting*

Seth: Well, sorry gotta go. BYE!

(Seth walks out of the kitchen, the out of the HQ)

Fenrir: I hope we did that sacrifice correctly.

Garr: Well, We did what the book told.

Akari: He really wasn't willing to be sacrificed though. Isn't that what the book said?

Fenrir: *Nods* Oh well..He was a goof treat though.

Faenix: Treat? He was like a full meal. FAT PIG!

Fenrir: *Burps* yup, yup. Anyone for DOOM?

(The kitchen suddenly becomes empty, except for Akari. She sighs and walks out of the scene)

[Dead Peeps 2K Funeral Parlor]

(Angel stands infront of the Old dead looking guy with eerie voice)

Angel: I swear, I heard a voice!

Old dead looking guy with eerie voice: Let's investigate shall we?

Angel: NO! That's creepy!

Old dead looking guy with eerie voice: Arn't you supposed to be the EVIL WAD-Rer?

Angel: SHUSH YOU!

(The two walk into the kasket room, where they stop and listen)

Voice in the casket: HIT ME BABY ONE MORE TIME!

(A large thud is heard. Like a head hitting a coffin)

Voice in kasket: Someone help me!!!

Angel: OH MY GOD! JEFFY?

Jeffy: ANGEL?

Old dead looking guy with eerie voice: UHHHH!!

(Old dead looking guy with eerie voice has a heart attack and dies)

Angel: AHHHH!

Jeffy: Hehehehehe!! Not more than 5 minutes back, and I am already killing people. Babes, It's sorta dark in here, and well, I CANT SEE OR BREATH!

Angel: I can't open it! I'm scared!

JeffY: ....

(Angel walks over to the coffin, and opens one latch, then the other. Angel turn away to hide from what Jeff might be Jeffy trying to roll out of the coffin, pushes itself of the kasket monument, and it falls to the ground onto it's frontside, closing Jeffy back in)

Jeffy: DAMN!

[WAD-R HQ]

Fenrir: DOOM!

Garr: ZZzzzzzzzz

Faenix: DOOM!

Sender: DOOM!

Akari: *Sigh*

--CONTINUED--

[Dead Peeps 2K Funeral Parlor]

Jeffy: ANGEL! WILL you please LIFT this thing OUT FROM under ME?!

Angel: *Taking deep breaths* Ok...

(Angel lifts and rolls the coffin over. Jeffy lies underneat it. He looks the same, other than the fact that his skins a greenish pale, and he has the open gunshot hole in his stomach from the Code-G incident

Angel stands looking down onto Jeffy's now alive body. She runs off, out of the room.)

Jeffy: Wow! Do I look that bad?

(Jeffy gets up, and looks at himself in the reflection of the coffin)

Jeffy: ICK! Guess so!

(Jeffy walks of into the room where Angel took off to. The bad oder of death reeks his movement. Angel is in the corner of the room, her face in her hands. )

Angel: *Speaking to herself*
This isn't happening, no, it's not, it cant be...

Jeffy: *Looks down* Maybe it shouldn't be..

(Angel turns to look at Jeffy's dead form)

Angel: How did this happen?

Jeffy: hmmm.... Musta been the old AD&D rule. Hehehehe!!

Angel: *Looking down* Let's get to the HQ..You first!

Jeffy: Ok.. I get it!

(LATER)

[WAD-R HQ]

(The HQ Door swings open, Jeffy walks in. FEnrir almost instantly pulls out a shotgun and yells)

Fenrir: ALRIGHT YOU DAMN DOOM ZOMBIE! STEP BACK OR DIE!

Jeffy: FENFEN!

Fenfen: HUH? JEFF!!! * Takes a good look at Jeffy* AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

(Fenrir runs off..)

(After about 3 hours of confusion Garr explained everything to everyone. Fenrir like 30 times, but it doesn't matter)

(All the members, BUT ANGEL, sit in the meeting room. Jeffy now almost completely covered with air fresheners.)

Jeffy: This sucks!

Fenrir: hehehe... Giant air freshener.

Akari: Angel is very shoken up with this whole thing.

*Sender nods*

Garr: So Jeffy, How are you going to be normal?

Jeffy: Well... I'm now A LIVING DEAD JEFF. So far nothing much hurts me, all it does is like agrivate me. Hmmm...What else?

(Jeffy looks up to notice Fenrir and Sender gone. Faenix took off to foil some more useless stuff, and Akari went to go confort Angel, and explain this entire incident)

Garr: Doom.. Causes everyone to leave..

Jeffy: DOOM .. you say!

(Garr looks down noding. When he looks up, he is by himself.)

Garr: Oh well.. Guess everything back to semi-normality!

--THE END--...OR IS IT--

Garr: *laying there as the blade re-enters him, feeling his blood level weaken inside him.. * brother.. remember.. .. tell.. her.

*As he watches his brother slowly turn into torpor.. he picks him up and throws him over his shoulder.. .. looking to the door.. he walks towards it, and turning into a mist with him, exiting*

Bad Magic
By: ~Jeff

[WAD-R HQ]

{Akari and Garr are away walking the town for the day. Angel won't get out of her room to scared to face the fact that Jeff is a zombie. Meanwhile, Fenrir watches reruns of Babalon5. Faenix is working on a newspaper article. It reads " PokeMon. Plot of Nintendo to Take over the World ".

Jeffy sits in the kitchen. He drinks coffee, and reads a N.Y Times article. )

Jeff: * speaking to himself * Hmm Witch with abilities to do everything. I THINK NOT! I bet myself she can't make me be a non-zombie again. 666 Devil Road. Well Witchy, I'm on my way.

(Jeff quickly gurgles down his hot coffee and runs out the door)

[666 Devil Road A.K.A Witch Haven]

(Jeff stands outside of the door to the Witch Haven. People on the street run about screaming about Jeff's appearance.

Jeff walks into the door. In a dark corner a bearded women halts him. )

Blair: Take a number, and wait in the zombie line.

(Jeff pulls a number from a number rack, and walks into an archway with a red, wavy cloth used as a door. Inside a zombie from resident evil lays on the floor. No legs and no bottom jaw. The zombie looks up at Jeff, then crawls into the door where a lady sits behind. Smoke masks the insides of the door. Jeff pulls out a pencil and begins to doodle on one of the papers found on a small desk beside the left doorway. )

Jeff: Wow! I drew an evil stick figure! Die!

(A lady behind the door calls NEXT. Jeff gets up and walks into the smoke, then into the nearest wall)

Jeff: ARGG!

Blair: Sit, Sit! What is it you wish?

Jeff: I want to see if you fakes can turn me back into a normal dark elf.

Blair: You deny us. You a non-believer.

(Jeff nods)

Blair: Well We could do it, but in our contract it says no.

Jeff: Is that an excuse?

Blair: No. Go get the contract. Read it. It is on that desk outside the door.

(Jeff suddenly seems shaky)

Jeff: Er. This?

(Jeff raises the contract now completely covered in doodles of that evil stick figure.)

Blair: HOW DARE YOU? YOU WILL PAY FOR THIS! GET OUT!

Jeff: It was, er, and accident.

Blair: Along with this.

(A bright blue lighting bold flies out of the green metallic phased magic ball on table. The lighting bolt strikes Jeff. Jeff quickly takes off of the witch haven in pain of the bolt.

Later, He arrives at the HQ. Being slightly late, and almost everyone being away, he headed straight for his room. There, he got ready for bed. After putting on his PJs he went upstairs to the kitchen for coffee.

In his room a sudden dark presence fills. In the far corner, his pants pocket begins to move. A sudden evil laugh is heard. Out of Jeff's pants jumps out the evil stick figure doodle he drew earlier at the Witch Haven. )

Stix: AHHHHH! LIFE! HOW NICE! HOW FUN! THE EVIL I WILL CAUSEMWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

--To Be Continued

Fenrir, wanting an excuse to blow stuff up, decided to start a Great War between some members of WAD-R. The next few stories are from that War.

The Great War: Beginnings

This message was posted by Fenrir, posted on November 19, 1999 coming from 209.148.165

In the pristine silence of space, the heavy-warcruiser 'Surtur' of the Centauri expedition fleet blossomed in the darkness, like a beautiful but deadly flower.

" To all Aie ships. You are ordered by the Centauri empire to surrender and prepare to be brought into our cargo bays. Resistance shall be met with force." A radio transmission spoke

> No response. The captain motioned his second officer to power up the weapons.

> "Fire."

> The primus ignited it's pulse cannons, destroying a dozen enemy ships. They were small, about three meters long, and shaped like a tear drop. The rest broke formation and like a swarm of bees, began the battle.

> "Launch all sentri fighters. Call in the secondary fleet. I want warbirds 1,3 and 4 to guard our flank."

> "Yes sir" was the response.

> The seed ship dodged enemy fire and when within range, fired it's own weapon. Their only advantage was their sheer number, and small size.

> Turning right, it fired a direct shot on the gigantic warbird. Although the armor was thick, a few more shots would make the damage adequate.

> Enemy fighter 30 degrees to west. Enemy fighter 31.7 degrees to west. Enemy cruiser dead ahead. Initiate kamikaze procedure the posatronic matrix of the little ship echoed to it's many parts.

> It swirled past a comrade seed ship, which was hit by a sentri. The energy matrix inside siphoned the energy blast to it's main replication module, and it began to split. In a few seconds the mitosis was over. These two would cover the first one.

> Only a few hundred meters remained before it would reach it's target. A pulse cannon blast barely missed the fighter. Range to target: 50 meters. Initiating kamikaze procedure. Anti-matter storage at 97% ..... KaBoom! The ship incinerated itself, and dealt great damage to the enemy vessel.

> Suddenly, a brilliant light shone in the distance. A jump point. Little bursts of light came from the wormhole, as nearly a dozen shapes exited. It was the secondary fleet of the exploration force. Now three more primus warcruisers came to join their lone sister ship, with a complimentary fleet of warbirds.

> But the Aie kept coming, from all directions.

> Warbird 3 ignited in hot plasma as it's bridge shattered. It spiraled out of control and hit another. The wreckage scattered across the nearby area, causing even more problems for the fighters. At last, an enemy capital ship was destroyed. 2 to be exact.

> -Primus cruiser bridge-

> Captain: Status report?

> Another centauri vessel staggered beside them, it's engines gone, and hull critically damaged

> Officer: *hitting a few buttons on his access pad* The 'hell hound' is badly damaged. Most of our fighters are gone. The Aie can replicate in number, which is a disadvantage on our side. *scans the access pad for relevant information* Our warbirds have successfully destroyed nearly all enemy ships within a radius of 25 000 kilometers. The rest of them will be within weapons range in 1 minute, 24 seconds.

> Captain: Good. Call the Warbirds to a halt. Instruct the powering of the mass-drivers. When all are operational, await my mark.

> The young officer stared in disbelief. "But captain, the emperor told us only to fire them when we reach the orbit of Andromeda."

> Captain: You will do as I ordered, or would you like me to have a Keeper put on you?

> A keeper... he shuddered. Even the thought of it could send creeps up his spine. A keeper was a "gift" from the god-like race that had awoken on Z'Ha'Dum a few weeks back. Once put on a being, it took control of it's nervous system, thus having complete control over it. It could be instructed by telepathy, and it's unique cloaking field made it nearly impossible to detect. Even if you got it off, it still had control over you. If you killed it, which was unlikely, you would die instantly. "Gift"? More like a curse.

> Officer: *gulp* ye-yes sir.

> Outside, the Aie armada approached. At least a few thousand ships were left.

> The massive bays of the mass drivers opened aboard all three cruisers, as the fourth primus had severe damage to it's mass driver targeting system. Gravity amplifiers inside hummed with energy, to create astronomical acceleration within a small time period.

> Officer: Mass driver system ready aboard all primus cruisers.

> Captain: Good. Launch.

> In less than an hour the battle would be over.

> A final spark on energy set the gigantic space rocks speeding into space...

>  * *

>
> -Aie-

> =..the "centauri", as they call themselves, completely surprised our ships, destroying them with medium injuries to themselves. Another 13 swarms have been sent to search for their homeworld =

> The electronic voice spoke. A figure in the shadows muttered: "Display all known information on enemy ships."

> The nearest computer screen blinked on line and showed three shapes separated by three rectangles.

> "Display enemy ships from smallest to largest in size."

> =Acknowledged. Hologram functions on =

> A medium sized console exited, creating a 360 degree view of the first ship.
>

> = We believe this ship is called the Sentri, evidence found in enemy transmissions. Display? =

> "No."

> = Length: 20 meters. Mass: Estimated at 30 tones. Medium short range fighter. Composition: Primitive weapon deflecting armor. Weapons: Twin heavy laser--- =

> With more annoyance, Leach replied. "Display next ship"

> = Ship name: Centauri warbird. Classification: Medium sized capital ship =

> The hologram flickered, showing the elegant craftness of the Vorchan-class warcruiser.

>

> = Length: 360 meters, Beam: 475 meters Draught: 305 meters. Fighter capacity: Unable to display. No information regarding subject. Mass: Estimated at 122 000 tons. Weapons: Advanced pulse cannons, missile launcher. Do you wish more information about tactics and formations used during battle? =

> Leach: No. I want all known information on the last one.

> He knew that the next one would be the gigantic capital ship that had pulverized his swarm squadron.

> =Displaying all information =

> What an impressive design, Leach thought. And what impressive firepower. Infact, after he subdues this race, he might introduce this design and create the Aie heavy-warcruiser line of ships.

>
>

> = Length: 1586m Beam: 1023m Draught: 455m. Weapons: 8 heavy twin pulse cannons. A 'mass driver' system, which uses artificial gravity to launch asteroids from inside the cargo bay at astronomical speeds at target. Most likely for planetary bombings. Fighter capacity: 14 Sentri fighters. Display information on Sentri fighter? =

> A drone robot scuttled across the nearby hallway

> "Fuck, stop asking me if I want ship pictures displayed. Just continue. Grrrr" he growled.

> = Mass: Unknown. Estimated at 200 000 -270 000 tons. Attack formations: So far, only wedged and triangular formations have been observed---=

> "Enough. Keep all transmission lines open in case any swarm squadrons find any information regarding this little skirmish. Increase vessel production by 300%. I feel we have a war on our hands."

> Glancing at a nearby tactical display of his forces, Leach frowned and slowly frowned.

> Leach: *quietly* But how did they know we were the Aie?

> Computer: = Unkown.=

> "....Only a few races know of our existence, and they have been told not to give any information regarding us. Prepare a shuttle.. I'm going to have a little chat with the ambassadors of the other worlds.

> Computer: =Acknowledged. Shuttle ready. Do you wish escorts?=

> Leach: Yes. Half a swarm squadron.

> Sending 1500 escort ships with him was a little too much, but it would be intimidating.

> The computer made an electronic nod, as Leach exited the room. "It could get worse" he sighed.

> --------What just happened:

> The Aie, a race that has had space flight for...umm..a looong time, has been attacked by the centauri, paving the way for a war. Fenrir hasn't yet appeared (he might never appear) The centauri have awaken the shadows. Only a matter of time before they rise up and keel you all! MUAHAHAHAHAHA

> Blah Blah Blah.

> -Fenrir
> "Now THIS is a great war story. Maybe garr's story could have worked if he had escaped whatever he tried to escape, and then tried to kill all of us. And we all became paranoid, ran way, made alliances with gangs/etc... and then fought...hmmm.."

Now, just to set the record straight, Fenrir took our conversations and used them as a base for his story. Pretty close, all things considered. I'll just set the record straight here.

The Aie Opens
By Leach

-----------------------

The Aie considered the latest developments. Somehow its existance had been discovered. After countless eons, it had thought all traces of its existance removed from the various species' histories. Only racial memory should have remained, and that was inherantly weak in the material beings. There should have been no way for these "Centauri" to know about it.

Yet somehow they had.

The Aie spent several hundred milliseconds considering this. Its existance could not be covered up any more. But perhaps steps could be taken to minimize the threat. The Aie began its preparations. It had not seen war for many eons. The Aie never forgot, though. Never.

*****

Throughout the spaceways, small two meter ships scattered. Singly, a seedship is a rather pitiful sight. The pale white teardrops could not stand up to much. But then again, not much could hit them at the speeds they were capable of.

All over the galaxy, the small ships dove into comets, asteroid fields, and meteor swarms, powering down to minimal to sit and observe. It would take a focused scan to seperate the ships from any other drifting debris, and who would scan a harmless comet? Once situated, the seedships diverted all their "attention" to eavesdropping on passing communications. Knowledge was power after all, and the Aie intended to be very powerful indeed for the coming conflict.

*****

(In an obscure corner of the Centauri Empire, a pair of Vorchan-class cruisers scouted the surrounding space for hostiles.)

[Onboard the cruiser Salurus] (if the crew designations are wrong, I'm sorry.)

Captain: Anything to report, ensign?

Ensign: No sir. No space-time anomolies, no Narn warships, not even a single rogue asteroid. Boring as yesterday.

(Suddenly, the ensign's console beeped)

Ensign: Sir! we've got an unscheduled jump gate forming at oh-two-three mark two-one-nine mark one-oh-five.

(The main viewscreen shifted to show the expanding orange whirlpool. Small specks poured out of it like dust.)

Captain: Ensign, get a reading on those things.

Ensign: Yes sir! They seem to be some type of spaceships, but they're too small for anything we've come across. Energy readings are low. Maybe they're some sort of robotic drones. Estimated time to intercept is forty seconds.

(The captain's eyes widened as he watched more dust pour from the jump point. There had to be more than a thousand ships against their two.)

Captain: Open a channel.

Ensign: *beep* No response.

Captain: Contact the Aurora. Tell them to power up the weapons, this could get nasty. Send a message out. If we don't live through this, the Empire needs to know what they're dealing with.

Ensign: Aye aye, captain.

(The captain watched as the display showed the ships taking up a spherical formation around the two scouts. They were sitting jokani here. Then all Hell broke loose.)

*****

The Aie seedships sped inward towards their prey, firing pinpoint shots. The two vessels shot back as much as they were able, most of the shots going wild. The wild shots managed to take out several seedships, though, due to the sheer number of them hanging around.

The Aurora succumbed first, its hull buckling in a dozen different places. Crew members felt the cold embrace of Space as vacuum flooded the ship. Thirteen seconds later, the ship blossomed into a spectacular fireball, illuminating space and the thousand extra stars swarming around the Salurus.

The Salurus fared better than its sister ship. It managed to take out a few dozen seedships before it, too, fell to the Aie. Frost crystals flew from hull ruptures, boiling and freezing at the same time. The crew mercifully died quickly. The Aie had plans for this ship.

Moving in, the seedships latched onto the floating debris from the Aurora and the lifeless hulk of the Salurus. A point flared in space, dilating into a blue swirl in space. The seedships sped in, heading back to safer territory.

*****

[Centauri Prime]

(In the Imperial High Command chambers, High Admiral Tolm looked over the data on his screen.)

Begin transmission.

This is the Salurus, contacting all Centauri vessels. We have engaged unknown enemy. Species in unknown, as is their hostility. Our hails remain unanswered. They;re moving to attack range now. We are engagi-

Transmission terminated.

(Tolm looked over the video feed again. The Aie moved quickly, apparently. Preparations would have to be made. The crew of the Salurus and Aurora would never know how valuable this information was. Tolm got up. He had plans to make.)

--------------------------

There ya go. One thing: neither Leach nor Faenix are characters in the War. Only the Aie.

(Great war) Curiosity prt.1 (great war)

This message was posted by Fenrir, posted on November 20, 1999 coming from 149.99.139

The old centauri awoke. He ate breakfast, dressed himself, and strode down the royal palace, accompanied by his guards. Entering his work chamber, he was surprised to find a young man perched up beside the wall. He came closer, and politely explained.

"My name is Fenrir, Senator. I have been sent here by my associates. I'm a.. middle-man I suppose."

Talim sent his guards out and closer the massive doors.

"No need to be alarmed."

Talim: *nods* yes..yes..Now, Mr. Fenrir, why are you here?

The expression on Fenrir changed into a scorn.

Fenrir: I was going over these files concerning the state and all. I'm a little disturbed by your hesitation to sign this *gives the senator a paper* Now, my associates have promised to co-operate with your people if you co-operate with us. We need those 10 thousand bodies by the end of the week.

"But to give over than many innocent people to serve as mere processing units for your "associates" is madness. I realize the Emperor has agreed, but I cannot sign this..." was the reply

He looked away as the man called Fenrir came closer, standing in front of him.

Fenrir: You know well the emperor can override your command. We are just doing things by the book. Now please sign it.

Senator Talim: I cannot

he motioned his two guards to enter the room, and escort Fenrir away.

"then" a voice of pity echoed "I have no other choice. I apologize"

The guards fell dead beside him as a pair of beings appeared behind them. Their long, clawed hands sliced the guards necks. The senator took a few steps back, in terror. The two scuttled beside Fenrir. A sudden fluctuation of sounds erupted between the three.

One shadow being stepped forward, extending one of it's legs. A shape began to crawl down, a spidery creature. It crawled on the floor for a few seconds and jumped on the senator. A faint scream ensured.

"The keeper will make sure you do as you are told."

Sentaor Talim: Please! I have a family! I'll serve you willingly, with all the resources at my disposal! Pleas-- *gurgle*

The tentacles wrapped around his neck and hand, as the Keeper adjusted itself conformably on his shoulder. It's only eye opened, studying the host. After a few milliseconds, it flickered in the light and disappeared.

Once again, Fenrir smiled politely as his shadow guards also disappeared like ghosts, leaving no trace behind.

"I guess now it won't be a problem getting the required specimens for my associates by tomorrow evening, will it, Senator....?"

 * *

By now, the Aie had made enough victories over the centauri to be totally confident of success. In a matter of weeks, there won't even be the centauri anymore. They had to be punished for their hostility. After all, it had space flight when the humanoids first developed speech and intelligence.

Only one think disturbed it. Preliminary scouting (that could be inconclusive) had found evidence of Centauri ship yards and vessels dangerously close to Z'Ha'dum, and sacred home of the Shadows. Only a few light years close.

The Aie remembered the shadows well. Once, long ago, when it was young, they were the malevolent beings in the sky who manipulated it's still organic race. The shadows were everywhere, spreading chaos like a farmer spreads seeds. This was the reason the Project was founded in the first place.

Terrible and beautiful empires rose and fell as the tide of civilization flourished in the galaxy. Finally, 10 thousand cycles ago, the shadows were defeated by the combined effort of a dozen races. Their power had been broken, and nobody has heard of them since. It was rumored they came back to Z'Ha'dum after they were driven off and went into hibernation. No one dared to find out for sure.

But now, the risk of the Centauri awakening them was high enough. Something had to be done before it was too late.

It had already sent dozens of advanced long range probes to scout the Z'Ha'Dum system. So far, nothing abnormal had been reported.

=Periodic component check initiated= these were scans that happened every few seconds to ensure everything within the Aie empire was functioning appropriately. The small connection to swarm squadron 117-AA had went out. Probability of interference: 21.3% Probability if circuit break: 0.8%... the posatronic brain calculated.

=An attack?= No... No enemy fleet, however large, could wipe out 3000 seed ships before they even had a chance to send a distress signal.

The central computer spent a few minutes going over and over the mysterious phenomena. A small spatial disturbance was detected mere seconds before 117-AA was lost. But what was even more strange was where they had disappeared: none other then at Z'Ha'Dum

=The Shadows= it wasn't certain, but no risks could be taken at this time. It would send a few more probes to find solid proof. Evidence was needed.

-3 days later-

-Centauri prime-

Fenrir sat in a chair and looked through the window. Two pairs of warbirds and a squadron of sentris could be seen in the sky. Every few minutes a jump point could be seen from the atmosphere. Military ships, supply ships, trade ships, the rest.

The prime minister came in, followed by 5 elite guards.

"Leave us." He dictated.

The guards bowed, and quickly left.

Fenrir: Excellent. What is the latest news from the front lines?

Prime Minister: Another colony was seized by the hostile invaders. We lost 2 dozen warbirds and 7 primus war cruisers. This is having a devastating effect on our military, and even more on the economy. I hope you have an ace up your sleeve.

Fenrir: My associates do. They have the first fleet of ships nearly ready for operation. Tell the emperor my gravest apologies for these inconveniences. I'll do everything I can to make it up to him.

The other man nodded, and left. Before leaving the door, a Keeper flickered into view, resting on his shoulder. Fenrir left the room shortly after too.

-Aie system-

The evidence finally presented itself: A gravitational disturbance coming from inside Z'Ha'dum was interfering with the seedships, mainly the sensors, weapons and propulsion device.

But it had to make with what it had. The probes still hung there, watching silently. For the first time in eons, the Aie once again experienced fear...the fear of the obvious.

Yeah..I screwed up the Aie here..hehehe

Leach was finally off to his duty. Cloned from human DNA, he would serve as an ambassador to the younger races. Until he found out where centauri prime was, what the centauri were doing at Z'Ha'dum, and why, he would continue to function. Once that was done, he would re terminated. The Aie have never done this...but it had to at the time.

The prototype ambassador-class seed ship detached itself from the larger vessel, and began it's journey. 57 thousand kilometers from any nearby ship, it initiated it's hyperspace engines. A massive orange portal expanded from the energy spike, and consumed it. Shifting it's inside energy a few seconds, the jump point closed, ending in a small, quick burst of light.

No escorts have been sent with Leach, which was uncommon. The younger races would do that. A coded message had been sent to the governments or 5 major empires in the nearby systems. Although each race said they were honored by the visit, the Aie knew that they were not welcomed. They bring trouble, many alien ambassadors said.

It did seem to lately....

-2 days later-

Uploading information into prototype ambassador-class seedship mark I. The latest news poured on a command console. Leach was human. He had a slow thinking process...astronomically slow to the Aie.

= Centauri attack on sector 14-3-90. Unsuccessful =

= Centauri attack on sector 14-3-90 Unsuccessful =

=Attack on Centauri station Agamedes successful =

= Centauri ambush of swarm squadron 16K successful. Display Information? =

"No."

= Llort ambassador sent transmission at 6:6 stating escorts canno---- =

Before the computer could finish an alarm sounded.

= Warning: Centauri vessel 120 thousand miles away from us. Trajectory indicates hostile attack strike. Engage? =

The man got up and pushed a few controls.

"Negative. Full power to engines. Initiate maneuvers." A voice exclaimed.

He was going to try getting as close to his destination as possible, then jump out into real space. Hopefully, the alien government stationed there would come to his assistance.

=113 thousand kilometers away. Ship will be within enemy targeting range in 24 seconds. =

"Damn."

= Enemy ships launching fighters. =

"Display enemy fleet"

= Scanning........1 primus cruiser. 14 sentri fighters. =

He didn;t say anything. Just kept concentrating on a strategy/

= Unknown. =

Leach pressed a few more icons on the control pad and spoke "Make a hard right. When enemy ship is within 5 seconds of firing range, initiate jump engines."

But the sentris were already in firing range. Blasts shook the seedship. Another 2 enemy fighters came from the top, firing but missing their target.

A blue beam protruded from the nose of Leach's vessel, and hit an incoming sentri. It blew up instantly, a few parts of wreckage all that was left. Another met the same fate.

Being almost 3 times as large as the centauri fighters did have it's advantages.

The engines shook. Another 2 or 3 blasts there and there would be no hope of escape.

=Initiating jump engines =

Leach almost screamed for joy as a jump point was formed infront of him.

A massive bolt of energy passed his cockpit. They had mis-calculated the range of a primus...
The second one hit the ship. Everything went blank. His hopes faded. He was so close to the jump point...a few seconds more would have done it, but it was too late. It had already started to close.

"This is it...." The human sadly said...

The vortex closed.

Infront of him, the glimmering primus began to get closer. He could even see the neutron cannons from this distance, sturdily posed on the front and sides of the behemoth. The remaining sentris circles the disabled seed ship, like vultures would circle a dying animal.

But then, a jump point appeared....

In front of him, the glimmering primus began to get closer. He could even see the neutron cannons from this distance, sturdily posed on the front and sides of the behemoth. The remaining sentris circles the disabled seed ship, like vultures would circle a dying animal.

But then, a jump point appeared....

Out of the hole in hyperspace, a handful of organic-looking ships emerged. A voice came over the speakers.

"Centauri vessels. This is the Mibari cruiser Echelon. The Aie ship is under our protection. Cease your attacks or we will be forced to retaliate."

Leach sighed. The Mimbari vessels were outnumbered and outgunned. All they could hope to do was provide a distraction. But a distraction was all he needed.

Leach turned and strode over to one of the slick crytsalline walls that made up the featureless room. He placed his arms flat against the wall. Tendrils of it flowed over his wrists, interlocking with the Aie components imbedded into his nervous system.

The Aie had given him limited options concerning this ship. He used one of them now.

~~~~~~~~
Outside the Ambassador-class ship, the Centauri were still trying to get out of an interstellar incident with the Mimbari. Their attention suddenly shifted to the seedship as it exploded.
The hull of the ship just blew outward in a flash of white energy. Centauri and Mimbari both stood shocked at it, seeing no reason for the explosion.
Suddenly, two hundred seedships flew out of the expanding rubble. Every one wnet a different direction, firing on any Centauri vessels that happened to be in the way.
As they fled, sixty seven of the small vessels were destroyed, and another sixteen suicide-bombed some Sentri fighters to clear a path for their sister ships.
Using most of their energy, the surviving seedships formed jump points, much smaller than normal ones but still a large tax on their small energy stores. They winked out of hyperspace in a flare of light.
~~~~~~~~

Centauri commander: Blast it! How many got away?

Leutenant: About half, sir.

Commander: The emperor will not be pleased. Tell the fighters to track those ships. Destroy any that they find. Let none get away.

Leutenant: Aye sir. And what shall we do?

Commander: Only what we can. Set course for Centauri Prime, and hope the the Emperor will be merciful.

Leutenant: Yes, sir.

~~~~~~~~
Leach lay in his seedship, barely fitting in the 2-meter length. He did not feel any discomfort, though, as the Aie crystal was now fully interfaced with his nervous system. He watched through the seedship's hull as the Sentri fighters broke formation to pursue the seedships.
A brief glimmer of amusement floated on his mind. Trust the Centauri to search the farthest reaches of the galaxy when their goal was right under their noses.
A spike in energy output signalled the powering up of the Primus' main engines. It hadn't noticed an extra 500 kilos, apparently. Exactly as expected, since the engines masked any energy signatures the seedship gave off.
Leach's mind relaxed into a sleep-like state. The Aie had no use of him during the trip.
~~~~~~
29 hours later
~~~~~~
The jumpgate over Centauri Prime flared into activity. Out of the blue whirlpoor sped a Primus-class capital ship. Unnoticed in the EM backwash, a seedship detached itself from the rear of the cruser and latched on a support strut, hid from prying eyes by the jump point's energy.
The Aie pondered its newest information. This was what it had been searching for. It was valuable indeed. Perhaps it was time to act.
Aie of the Storm
By Fnix
The Aie was in motion. It had to strike Centauri Prime quickly, before further defenses were added to it.
It pondered the various methods of attack. A frontal assault would be too costly, and strategic strikes had no guarentee of working. No, it had to do something sudden, something so overwhelmingly catastrophic that the Centauri empire would be too busy to deal with the Aie again. Then it could go back to studying the universe in peace.
Until then, though, it had to work.
~~~~~

In his seedship above Centauri Prime, Leach "awoke" from his half-slumber. The Aie was moving, and it needed him to be elsewhere when it attacked. He began preparations. His departure would serve as an excellent distraction for a few seconds.

3 hours later, the Aie was ready. Using splices into the jump gate, Leach initiated a jump point, causing much confusion among the Centauri monitors. Ships were immediately dispatched to check out the problem, never noticing one small little ship escaping in the havoc that followed.

A dozen small jump points flared into existance five hundred kilometers ahead of the planet. Over a thousand seedships and a hundred Pods swarmed from the gaping blue mouths.

The seedships immediately dispersed to intercept any enemy crusers. They naturally didn't stand a chance, they were just another distraction.

The Pods, however, sped right by any opposing ships and took up a position 300 kilometers ahead of the planet's revolution. They change the quantum state of their ansibles, switching it from information-only to energy draw. Every Aie ship within a hundred parsecs was drained dry as the Pods took in their energy. Fissure began to appear in their hulls as the stress of holding that much energy built. Finally, it was too much, and they exploded.

Just miliseconds before their demise, the Pods shunted all their energy into a single point in space-time, managing to create a Point, a place of exactly zero dimensions.

The Point had much energy, though, and soon it grew into a Line, and then a Plane, then a Sphere, and so on, up through the dimensions, tearing its way as it went. Huge energies ripped their ways through space, shearing away at any ships unlucky enough to be caught in its wash.

Finally, it stopped expanding, a giant, eleven-dimensional tear threading its way to hyperspace.

The populace of Centauri Prime stared uncomprehending at the giant orange whirlpool taking up most of their sky. The few who realized what the sight was were overcome by an incredible sense of helplessness.

Out in space, the Centauri commanders stared at it too, oblivious to the suddenly dead seedships around them. They watched as their home moved ever nearer that 20,000 kilometer vortex, watched as it hit the event horizon, watched as it accelerated into infinity, and was gone.

-----------------------

Now, Fenrir, you claim to have access to infinite energy. You're going to need to to get Centauri Prime out of hyperspace before the atmosphere freezes.
