(GW) Masters' call (Ogre's faction)

This message was posted by Grand Moff Ogre, posted on November 24, 1999 coming from 212.151.37
I was typing a post-box story describing Ogre and the CWLAH:ers background, but IE crashed, and the story was lost, so here is the short version since I just can't re-write it all.

Ogre and his more or less incompetent henchmen: operation CWLAH, left Earth five years ago in a stolen spacship capable of jumping through hyper-space. During their oddysey through space, they encountered the Intergalactic Empire (yep, the Empire from "Star Wars") and managed to get a position in the Emperor's fleet for two reasons.

A) They had survived for two years in a ship that the Empire considered a relic.

B)Newbie-1-Kenuuuuuuuubie was a user of the Dark side of the Force. Though he was a rather weak in power, the Emperor saw a potential possibility, in him.

Rapidly CWLAH advanced through the fleet's ranks by simply being the evil bastards they were. Ogre was eventually made commander of the Imperial Super Star Destroyer "The Queller", he made sure to place only CWLAH:ers as his officers.

A few months ago, Emperor Palpatine sensed a remote disturbance in the Force, much too large to ignore. That was the reason for the expedition that the Queller was sent out on along with the Imperial Stardestroyers Fear and Justice. They are to find the source of the disturbance and then report back.

But Ogre does not intend to return. He is currently still setting course for the source of the disturbance, but he and the two star destroyer commanders, Orod Mothahart and Vaanden Snyders, have decided to abandon the missiion and start a rich life as plunderers. To do so they have reinforced their numbers, maybe not a very smart move...

Grand Moff Ogre sat in his office aboard the "Queller". Both of his two heads were for once silent as they studied the meaningless statistics that rolled over the computerscreen on his desk. He didn't need to read them, but they both found that the numbers and abbreviations were a great way to forget everything else. And recently he had had a lot of reasons to forget everything. It had seemed like a perfect plan: go on a mission to remote distance, pick two of the most corrupt officers in the entire Empire to go with him, make a few false promises to get more troops and then start the robbing. He thoguht he would become independent, his own boss. Instead, it looked as if he had gotten stuck with far more superiors than he had started out with.

He looked up when Nimrod, his communications officer, entered, the look on the red-haired young man's face told him that he brought no good news.

"You... Sir... You... have a message" Nimrod notified him.

Message... Message... He always had messages nowadays!

"Bring it on." he said tiredly.

On the huge view screen covering the wall in front of him, the old, grave and cunning face of Emperor Palpatine appeared.

"Greetings, my loyal servant." The Emperor said. This revealed that it was a recorded message, because otherwise the Emperor would not have greeted him first.

"I am afraid that something, very, serious has happened. Earlier this day, The Rebel Alliance attacked the Death Star as expected. However, instead of being crushed like bugs, as my generals had assured that they would be, they destroyed it. While this in itself will do nothing more than buying them a few more months before they are ultimately destroyed, it does mean that some reorganization is needed..." as he continued to speak, the Emperor made a frighteningly good imitation of a concerned face, with just a hint of humor in it "The Deathstar's commander, Grand Moff Tarkin, was... ...unfortunately aboard the station when it exploded, and is therfore no longer with us. But despite how deep and tragic this loss has been to me, I must not be sentimental, and therefore I have deemed it neccessary for you to take his place. I hereby appoint you Imperial Grand Moff. Perhaps you now think that you should return from the expedition in order to give your assistance in the battle against the Alliance. But, as much you would be a valuable addition, I must bid you to continue your search for the Disturbance, that task is currently more important. This is all you need to know for the moment, may the Force be with you in your search."

The transmission ended. Grand Moff, huh? It was a political move and Ogre knew it, even now the Emperor was probably reducing the power and influence the Grand Moff had, and since the Senate was no more, nothing could stop him. But it didn't matter, because Ogre would not return.

"Computer, notify all the Imperial workers about my promotion." he said tiredly.

Sooner or later it would become evident that he had betrayed the Empire, he knew that. But by then he would be too far away for it to take action. At least he hoped so. Newbie-1-Kenuuuuuuuubie had so far managed to keep the Emperor and his pet Lord Vader away from the minds of the expedition, making them hear only what Ogre had wanted them to hear, but that probably was mostly due to the fact that neither of dark jedis tried very hard to keep watch over them, the rebels kept their attention elsewhere.

The door slid open, and ogre expected to see Nimrod, but it was not him. Instead it was his second in command, Jim James Jeen Jebocksberry, also known these days as The Mecha-Chicken.

A few years ago, the old chicken-farmer Jim had died when he had been involved in a tragic accident with several penguins, but before his body had given up all its strength, Nimrod had managed to remove the brain from the body (and therefore actually been the real reason to why Jim had died) and place it in a life-support system while he had worked on a new robot-body for the old man. Unfortunately, he had been forced to use parts from junkyards and car scraps, and thus the end result had looked quite strange and not very human at all, after taking a look at what parts he could use, Nimrod had realized that a chicken was the best he could do. Jebocksberry had not minded the form much, having lived with and on the bird in question all his life, and the giant beak (which had used to be the borer on a machine used to make mining shafts) had done a lot to improve the respect his underlings had for him. Fittingly enough, the recorder that Nimrod had used to give the robot a voice had been broken, so he even occasionally clucked what he said.

"Commander, three u-u-u-unknown objects have been sighted, they're shaped like waterdrops and extremly small, but we still think they may be some sort of ships. However, we ca-ca-ca-can't make contact with them..."

"Any signs of hostility?"

"FRY THEM TO HELL!!!"

Head 1 and Head 2 had spoken at the same time. As he usually did, the Mechchicken chose to listen to the first one.

"No, no signs of hostility. Should we still open fire"

"No... No you should not..." the first Head had chosen to be cautious, like it usually did.

"Pansy!" Head 2 mocked him.

The Mecha-Chicken left the room, knowing that it in the end was Head 1 who was in charge.

As soon as Jim had exited, making loud mechanic sounds for each step he took, Nimrod entered again.

"Sir, another transmission..."

"Yeah, bring it on, and make all further transmissions go directly to my office, it's not like anyone would bother to call anyone else aboard..."

The screen flickered a few times, and then showed a man who had dark grey hair and a light grey beard. Both the blue uniform with gold buttons and the large desk the man was sitting behind suggested that he was a man with power.

"Ah, emperor Mengsk." Head 1 said, Head 2 smiled cringingly.

"How goes the foray, commander?" Mengsk wondered, sounding extremly neutral.

"Well... We have yet to find any worlds with resources worth acquiring... You have to understand that these things take time.

"Time I don't have." The accent in the man's voice became clearer, someone from Earth would have called it "southern". "I already took a great risk by lending you such a large part of my military power as I did, and unless I see some results soon, I'm going to have to order my forces to retreat."

"You should have more faith in what I'm doing, emperor. We are going to find rich worlds soon, and "my" empire is getting increasing problems with the rebels, once they're involved in war deeply enough, they will not be able to protect all of their worlds, I promise you that what I'll bring you will be worth your investment."

"I hope it will, comamnder, I hope it will..." Mengsk broke the communication link. Both heads sighed and Ogre sank down over his desk.

When he had been sent away to investigate the disturbance, he had done so without any real forces to use for raids. Each destroyer had their own small fleet of tie-ships, shuttles and gunboats, and as they had passed through the galaxy, Ogre, Snyders and Mothahart had expanded these fleets by buying (or more often steal) small attack ships. And for security reasons there was a force of marine soldiers and stormtroopers aboard each ship as well as a few AT-ST:s to defend the hangars. But that still wasn't going to be near enough. Ogre had needed a real ground force.

The solution had been Arcturus Mengsk and his Terran Dominion. Ogre had taken contact with the emperor and given him a proposal, in exchange for the Dominion's lending out vehicles and a small number of battleships, Ogre would bring back new technology, both from the Intergalactic Empire and from the raids, that would help Mengsk in his struggle against the Zerg. After a demonstration of the stardestroyers and tie-ships superior abilities, Mengsk had agreed to place a small part of his army at Ogre's fleet's disposal but under the control of Dominion officers. Therefore there were now ten Behemoth battlecruisers travelling with the Queller, the Fear, and the Justice, together the cruisers held a division of Arclite siege tanks, goliath mechs and personnel to operate them. That had ended his need for ground artillery.

He had an army, but that army would not be much good if someone disliked his raids and sent a large fleet to stop them. Which had been the reason to why he had crossed paths with..

The door to his office was slammed open (which was quite a hard thing to do considering that it was a sliding door which speed was regulated by electromagnets) and a male humanoid that was very tall of stature entered. Despite the highly advanced nano-armor and the Cratermaster rifle he carried, his uneven brown beard and bloodshot eyes made him look like one of the most shabby creatures in the universe, and since he was a Maggottonian, he probably was, too.

"I just came to tell you that your debt just increased with 0.05 %." The Maggottonian exited and slammed the door shut.

...And that had lead him to cross paths with Byard Blasphemer Maggott, ruler of the Maggottonian Empire and owner of "Maggott's intergalactic siege-force rental". From this exclusive store, one could get almost anything that ever had been invented by anyone to kill someone else, and quite a few of the things that the someone else had invented to protect himself anyone, too.

Ogre had intended to buy Zlorfgringian "Can't tocuh me" -shields for all the ships, and to equip the stardestroyers with a few cannnons that had been developed by the Narxblash and almost could compete in firepower with the cannons found on a Maggottonian one-man aircraft

However, power often comes with a price, in this case a price of 345 000 000 000 160 999 123.50 credits, money that Ogre didn't have. But he needed the shields and the cannons, and he had cried and called himself a lowly worm not even worthy of smelling the sweat on the mighty Byeard Maggoott's toes, so he had been granted a loan with a 15 % interest from MISFR. He would pay the loan off with as much credits and valuable goods that he could spare after each raid.

To ensure that Ogre would keep his word, Maggott had stationed a few of his legionairres aboard the Queller. If Ogre ever would "forget" an instalment, they had orders to go berzerk and fire randomly in all directions, which becasue of the power of Maggottonian firearms would turn the ship into debris in less than ten seconds...

The Grand Moff Ogre turned away from his desk and stared out into nothing. Sometimes he wondered if he had been crazy or just plain stupid...
======================================

Ok, here is how my faction is organized, I've tried to make them balanced enough:

The fleet is made up of 13 major ships: The Queller (Imperial Super Stardestroyer) Fear and Justice (Regular Imperial Stardestroyers) and ten Behemoth battlecruisers.

The stardestroyers' main weapons are several laser cannons, these cannons are fairly strong, but have a somewhat slow firing rate (one shot every tenth second or so) so small fast ships have quite good chances of avoiding them if they choose to use a "hit and run" strategy. As for the "mega-cannons" that Ogre bought at MISFR, these cannons do to really large ships what the normal cannons do to small ones, but they are also incredibly slow (one shot every half hour).

Fear and Justice are basically weaker versions of the Queller, the normal laser cannons are a lot less likely to take out small ships in one blow, and they only have two "mega-cannons" each.

The Battlecruisers have two laser batteries with cannons that can fire with a speed of one shot every fifth second, thse cannons are about as powerful as the two stardestroyers' and about as accurate. The battlecruisers also have a weapon called the "Yamato cannon", which fires a highly concentrated energy-beam which causes quite a lot of dammage (but not nearly as much as the mega-cannons, it would take ten shots to take down an average "big ship") the yamato-cannon takes one hour to recharge.

In order to counter smaller ships, the three stardestroyers have a large fleet of small ships taken from various places in the Intergalactic Empire. The strongest ones are the tie advanced ships. Second comes the tie bomber, and then the tie fighters. The other ships (who by far makes up the largest part of the fleet) are X-wings, Y-wings, Z-95 headhunters, imperial gunboats (kind of like armed shuttles), A-wings, B-wings, and several other un-named one-man fighters. Normally human pilots will be used for these ships, but there are more ships than pilots, so if the fleet is in a pinch, they can send out unmanned ships under computer-control (note that this is a panic strategy, the computers aren't all that good at flying).

All the capital ships have extremly powerful shields. These shields aren't indestructable, but it takes a silly amount of firepower to destroy them (let us not find out how much just yet)

As for ground forces, it will primarily consist of tanks and goliaths.

Arclite siege tanks, when mobile, are average tanks with two cannon barrels. But they can also use a more powerful shockhowitzer by steadying themselves into the ground with collapsible supports.

Goliaths are bi-pedal machines with bent back legs that are capable of moving through most terrains. They're about as tall as a two storey building. The pilot is located in a bubble on the top. Its weapons is a chaingun located in the "stomach" and eight small rocket launchers in each "shoulders".

Each stardestroyer's interior is defended by imperial stormtroopers and marine soldiers. And a few AT-ST:s in the hangars. The Fear and the Justice have about two hundred stormtroopers, one hundred marines, and twenty AT-ST:s. The Queller has seven hundred stormtroopers, three hundred marines, and eight AT-ST:s.

The battlecruisers have a force of Dominion marines to protct them. If they are attacked from the inside. These marines carry minigun-like armor-piercing rifles. There are about a hundred marines on each cruiser.

The Maggottonian legionairres will not take part in any raids or attacks (they will gladly help Ogre defending the Queller, but nothing more).

Currently Ogre's intention is to deride and plunder much as he can, because he is in debt to quite few people and needs money, eventually he hopes to even conquer a few planets and force their populations into his service. Another of his goals is to establish a base somewhere. However, Grand Moff Ogre is a capricious opportunist, and his goals might change.

The fleet will not try to draw attention to it, quite the opposite in fact, but it will fight anything that it considers a threat (and we all know it won't be able to work undetected for long ; )

The Imperial troops are not so very "imperial", the few soldiers that weren't interested in Ogre's plans have been brainwashed to loyalty.

I know this description is a bit muddled. But I mpromise that things will get clearer as I progress to write stories. Any writer is free to write stories in which their faction battle Ogre's pirate fleet, but for the moment it should be considered impossible to destroy any of the thirteen main ships.

NOTE: I really didn't have lotsa time to finish this, call it an LPD (Lame Plot Device) I'll mae a bigger and better grand entrance of the shadows soon...

Fenrir looked at the swirling sky. This wasn't happening...this couldn't happen.. it was impossible. And yet, it happened. He began to shiver. In less than 5 minutes, everything would freeze. All the centauri ships that were in the area of the vortex were now with them, in hyperspace. They had evacuated as many people as possible.

It wasn't supposed to happen, not so soon. Time to bring out the big guns. The very big guns.

***

The small Aie fleet lay there. They had come minutes after the gigantic vortex had closed. One of he ships was the newly repaired Ambassador-class vessel. Leach was inside, looking at the sole centauri moon. In a day it will swing out of it's orbit, and become all alone in the night.

"Heh. It's all over. Now the Centauri have lost. Back to good 'ol peace within the galaxy. Damn organic..." he said, wondering why he said the last part. He was organic.

A massive spatial disturbance appeared on his scanners. The very fabric of reality was fraying apart, until a faint shadow could be seen.

"What the...."

It grew. Less than 600 thousand kilometers in front of him, little shapes were forming. An abstract shape was appearing.

"By the stars...."

Seconds after the remark, it was over. Standing right in front, was a gigantic gray cloud. It kept expanding, contracting and fluctuating non-stop, but something about it was not right: It was coming closer.

Thousands of light years away, the main Aie computer almost had the electronic version of the heart attack.

At long last, they reveal themselves. The ancients have finally awoken...giants in a playground.

And with their most terrifying weapon.

The cloud shifted through space. Leach's scanners couldn't scan even the outer layers of the behemoth. His entire field of vision was darkened and gray.

He wondered how deep this thing was, how long it would take him to get through. He remembered information about black holes. Might this be on of them? In that case everything as close as he was to it was destined to never again come out. The event horizon.

But it wasn't a black hole. He'd never heard of anyone, not even a First One, being able to tow a black hole around with him. What else then? He instructed the seedship on full power to enter to what lay inside. Minutes passed.. the thing also blocked all communication, effectively severing him from the other side.

Nothing happened. Why did he go further? He already knew what it was.. it was organic curiosity, not unlike the technological one. But it was illogical, risky, and faulty.

A death cloud. He was certain, now more than ever. Bigger that a planet, the death cloud found a desired world, and engulfed it. Then, the massive spider-like structure in the inside would launch millions upon millions of thermonuclear missiles at the surface. The warheads would travel into the core, almost near the center, and at one moment, explode It destroyed an entire world from the inside out...nothing would be left, but an inhospitable, dead and fiery body in space.

The ultimate planet killer. No data was ever recovered from what happened after that. He still didn't understand how the Shadows could have produced or warmed one up so fast.

Soon, Leach would go past the outer areas of the beast. Perhaps within visual range of it's mechanical inside.

All of the Aie sister ships couldn't be found...either destroyed, or blocked from one another.. the first more probable that the second.

A large shape blipped on his scanners. It was moving fast. The ship came into visual, wavering black and spiky in the currents of space, like a nightmare come to life. It shrieked a beam of red energy, destroying his ship. It was the last thing he remembered. The explosion sent shockwaves to the nearby area. The frozen moment passed into the future, faded, died.

Moments later, the other side of the dead cloud spat out Centauri prime, relatively unharmed. Most of the population was already dead, but nothing cloning couldn't solve.
***

The avalanche had begun, the Aie thought. The shadows were awaken. Leach I was killed. A shadow death cloud was out there, probably not the only one. Now the fun began. It knew what would happen next: Within days the nearby alien governments would start war with each other. The shadows would convince them that they were their allies, and that they could gain more land from their neighbors. Within weeks, most of the young races would be gone.

It was time to make Leach II, hopefully with a better future ahead of him. His job would still be as an Ambassador. But one that would strive to create an alliance of young and old races alike, seeking out the first ones in the distant corners of the galaxy if it was necessary. Only that could prevent the shadows from expanding their reign of malice...

At this point the Great War kinda died. Oh well. Back to normalacy.

A WAD-R Carol (short story)

This message was posted by Sender, posted on November 28, 1999 coming from 209.86.129
It is a cold evening outside the WAD-R Headquarters... A light snow has begun to fall, blowing on the ground. A group of Christmas Carolers is walking down the road, singing to every household on the way. Sender, on his way home, takes note of them. He is concerned with other things. "I hope this snow doesn't ruin the wax job on this Harley," he mutters to himself. He pulls into the WAD-R Garage, and walks into the base.
Faenix and Fenrir, watching the TV, are debating the issue of boy bands, the current topic still being weither or not all boy bands are gay.
"Dude, I am serious, look at him. You cannot tell me that that isn't the obvious sign of a homo in denial," That would be Fenrir.
"They aren't gay, it's just that the evil government space cows got to them, and they are hypnotizing young pre-adolescent females with their mind control rays... Which reminds me..." In an instant, Faenix wraps the entire room in tin foil. "There, now they can't hurt us."
Fenrir just stares at Faenix incredulously. He shakes his head. "Why should I expect any different."
Sender shakes his head and walks into the kitchen. There he finds Garr and Akari sitting at the counter, reading books. They look up at him.
"Good eve, sir." Garr greets him.
Sender nods, "Hey Garr, still reading that "101 Ways to Seduce Someone" book?"
Garr grins, "Heh, no sire, that was Akari's book, I just happened to pick it up"
Akari rolls her eyes. "Hush now Garr. How are you doing Sender?"
Sender shrugs and points over towards the battling duo. "They are still there?"
Akari's turn to shrug, "They've been that way since you left And they haven't progressed at all."
Sender sighs. "Where is Angel?"
Garr points up to the next floor. "She has been in there since the funeral. Won't come out. Won't eat I am at a loss."
Sender shrugs and looks up. "Hey Jeffy, you have any ideas?"
A disembodied voice speaks out from the walls: "Nope I don't Want to play Doom?"
Sender nods. "Later, though, we have something we need to take care of, I think this'll bring Ang' out of her room."

In the meeting room, the whole troop is assembled. Faenix and Fenrir are still arguing, pointing to the old NKOTB dolls that had somehow made it into the facility. "They are yours you pervert!" "ARE NOT YOU ALIEN COMMIE!" "ARE TOO!" (you get the picture). Angel is dressed in all black, and looking at the floor. Garr is trying to hide the 101 Ways book under the table. Leach walks in. "Hi all!"
Everyone nods. "Hey." Leach disappears.
Fenrir looks up. "We need to get him more involved. He keeps disappearing like that. It freaks me out (back to the mundane arguing)."
Sender clears his throat, and hits a button on the table, a birds eye view of the castle and its neighboring streets appears on the wall behind him. "All right guys, at 1100 hours, I have seen a flock of Carolers heading our way," he aims at the map with his laser pointer. Fenrir stands up and shouts: "WRONG POINTER! USE THE OTHE" BOOM! A gaping hole appears through the smog. Sender stares for a second and turns around. "By my estimation, they should be arriving here in around thirty minutes. Because this is only three or four days after Thanksgiving, I suggest we repel the invaders in the most amusing way possible. Suggestions?"
Faenix stands up. "We could make a hot vat of oil, and pour it on their heads."
Sender shakes his head. "Nahh, too Adam's Family."
Garr stands up. "We could rip out their hearts and"
Sender thinks for a second and shakes his head again. "Well, we don't want to kill them, because I still have to appear in court to clear up the Halloween incident and besides, we want them to SPREAD the pain to everyone else"
Fenrir stands up. "I have an idea"

It is pitch black outside the castle, the only illumination comes from the 18th century lanterns hung on the gate. The carolers approach the castle cautiously, and start a chorus of 'O, Holy Night.' 6 black-clothed figures lurk through the woods, taking flanking positions around the group. Sender raises his right hand, two fingers point towards the carolers. Angel and Faenix nod through the masked helmets, and move around to take cover behind the bush. Garr and Fenrir push around to the other side, and get into place. Akari aims her weapon and heads towards the group, taking cover behind a tree. The carolers, not knowing what they are getting themselves into, start singing, 'Come Oh, Come Emanuel.' Sender aims his weapon, and jumps out from under the cover. He opens fire. Multicolored paintballs hit into the crowd from different angles as the rest of WAD-R reveals their location, mercilessly firing round after round of paint into the carolers. They scream bloody murder and run out into the streets, the WAD-R members coming to the gate, firing into the fleeting herd. Sender pulls off his facemask. He grins. "That was fun."
Faenix nodded. "Evil monkey-controlled sirens."
Fenrir looked around. "Dude, do we have a sled? I want to do some sledding."
Angel looked back at the castle. "Hmm. That was amusing"
Sender looks at her and sighs. "Freshmen."
They walk back into the base, planning for smores, hot chocolate, Christmas trees, and more carolers.

(WAD-R HQ, Akari's bedroom, Midnight)

(Akari sits up in her bed, awoken from a terrible dream. She has just envisioned Garr's death.. a dream with extreme detail, which provokes a major fear in her mind and body. Akari wipes the beads of sweat off of her forehead and stumbles into the bathroom across the hall. Grabbing onto the sink, she tries to keep herself standing, but fails and falls miserably to the cold tiled floor. After a minute or so, she heads into Garr's room, but feels a chill down her spine as she silently steps in. Garr is no where to be found, and she notices a large, dark spot on his bed. Akari carefully touches it with her hand, but pulls back immediately.)

Akari: *gasping* ..blood?! And it's so cold.. where did it come from?

(She hears a slight noise near the window and rushes out of the room.)

Unknown voice: Akari..

(Akari hurries to her room, but cannot sleep at all.. She's simply too shooken up about her dream, the blood on Garr's bed, and the voice she swears to have heard at least twice, which sounds amazingly similar to Garr's own voice. All night she lays and stares at the ceiling, her mind filling with crazy ideas as to where he could be, and what the blood is from. The next morning she groggily heads downstairs to the kitchen to find Fenrir, Sender, Faenix, and Jeffy's voice messing around and Shutat and Angel sitting at the table, drinking coffee.)

Faenix: Evil space commie! Come back here with my toast!

Fenrir: *running off* No! It was the last piece! It's MI-

*BOOOOOOOOOOM*

(Fenrir runs into what appears to be a land mine set up in the HQ, the toast flying out of his hands.)

Faenix: Heh, that'll teach you to steal MY breakfast. *catches the toast as it flies over to him, a bit burnt*

(Sender slaps his forehead and mumbles.)

Jeffy's voice: Fenrir, you ate all the cereal!

Fenrir: *emerging from the debris* Umm, so? Not like you can eat anything..

Jeffy's voice: Oh.. right.

(Suddenly a TV remote flies from out of no where and hits Fenrir.)

Fenrir: OW! Hey! Who threw that? *looks in Jeffy's general direction*..er.. wait..*looks towards the sound of Jeffy's voice*

JV: *whistles innocently*

(As another remote hits Fenrir in the head and he throws it back, failing to hit anything, Akari sighs and shakes her head.)

Angel: Mornin' Akari. Sleep well?

(Akari decides to avoid the question and quickly changes the subject.)

Akari: *pauses* Where is the herbal tea..?

(Angel glances up into Akari's weary eyes. She's used to her answering every question with a polite and friendly response..)

Angel: ...It's in the second cupboard from the left. Are you okay? You look really.. tired..

Akari: Thanks. Oh.. I do?

(Akari opens the third cupboard from the right..)

Angel: Umm, second cupboard from the left, Akari. And yes, you look exhausted.

(She steps to Akari and sets a hand on her shoulder.)

Angel: What's wr-

Akari: By the way, *opening the right cupboard this time* where's Garr?

Angel: *sighs* I don't know.. ask Shutat. *sits back down and stays quiet*

(Akari makes some tea and sits beside Shutat at the small table. Sipping a bit from her mug, she glances up at him.)

Akari: Shutat, do you know where Garr is?

Shutat: Nay, m'lady.

Akari: ..Oh.. Thanks anyway.

(After she finishes her tea, Akari heads back to Garr's room and discovers blood on the ceiling and walls also. As she examines the sheets, she feels chilly and notices the window open.)

Akari: How did that open..? It was closed last night, and if someone came in to open it, they would have noticed the blood..

(Quietly, she steps to the window and peeks her head out. The wind is blowing harshly, and a few orange leaves manage to tangle themselves into her hair. Akari quickly pulls the small window shut and turns back to the blood soaked bed. But the same familiar voice she heard last night whispers to her, somehow causing a slight breeze to blow past her small, frail body.)

UV: Akari..

Akari: Who..

UV: I love you, Akari Shimazu..

(The voice disappears along with the breeze and Akari stands there, frozen. She shivers and wraps her arms around herself, backing up against the wall, sliding down to sit. Her eyes close slowly and she falls into a deep sleep.)

(Dream)

(Akari looks around tiredly and takes in her surroundings. She is standing by the exact fountain where she met Garr, and the depressing gray mass of clouds hide the sun from view. The water of the fountain appears clear, but when Akari dips her hand in and pulls it out, crimson red blood spills from her fingers. She looks back to the fountain and now it is overflowing with blood.)

Akari: *gasping* Blood.. no..

(She backs up and tries to run, but her feet are stuck, in deep pools of dark blood. As she desperately yanks her feet around, trying to escape, she hears the voice once more..)

UV: I love you...

(Akari suddenly wakes up at this moment, ending her struggle. Jumping up from the floor, she blinks slowly.. then walks out of the room and into the hallway. The brightness stings her eyes as she makes her way down to the kitchen again, where Shutat sits still, reading a small black book, the title not visible.)

Akari: *as she sits down* Shutat..

Shutat: *looks up and sets his book down* What is wrong m'lady?

Akari: I.. Garr's room.. blood.. *puts head down on the table and sobs*

(Shutat puts an arm around her and begins to morph into Garr. But Akari looks up before he's finished and gasps, jumping up and knocking her chair down. By this time he's about finished, and gets to his feet. Akari stares in horror as the slow snap of realization hits her and her face flushes red.)

Akari: *angrily-(which is not usual with Akari)* You..! You're not Garr! Where is he?!

Shutat (as Garr): Whatever do you mean..? How can you say that I am not?

(Shutat begins to use his magic to make her believe that he is Garr, but Akari's too strong.. she sees this and runs out of the room, confused and in tears. He follows and watches as she stumbles out of the HQ, colliding with Fenrir, who was just coming back inside.)

Fenrir: Akari? What's wrong? Garr tell you he's a vamp-

Akari: Fenrir! ..Shutat..Garr.. blood.. I.. I can't..

Fenrir: Huh?

(Akari pushes Fenrir away and continues running, leaving him puzzled. She runs and runs until she can't move her legs anymore, and collapses on the street. An hour later Shutat finds her and carries her back to the HQ. She awakens in Garr's room, Shutat (as Garr) standing before her.

Akari: *gasping and pulling herself to her feet* ..What's going on? How did you change into Garr like that?

Shutat aG: ...*sighs* I s'ppose it's too late to brainwash you.. I must tell you the truth, m'lady. *as he morphs back to Shutat* Garr is gone, where, I cannot tell, when he will return.. I don't know.. He's in.. torpor.. not sure if he will return ever..

Akari: What's.. torpor..? And how long have you been pretending to be Garr?!

Shutat: Only these past few days. Torpor.. I cannot tell, m'lady. You musn't know.. all I can say is that it is unlikely he will return.

Akari: *shakily, through sobs* WHAT?! Tell me God dammit! Why won't he be back?! Where is he?!

Shutat: I cannot, m'lady. Good eve. *turns and exits the room*

Akari: What do you mean?! Why... *falls to knees in sobs*

(Akari is left confused and hurt, laying on the floor of Garr's room. She remains there the rest of the day.)

Thanks Lucy, for convincing me that everything will be alright ;) and the idea to write this story, also thanks Fenrir and Sender for helping me out. I was looking through old files and I found one of Jose's poems, and it sort of relates to Akari and Garr:

She spins around and never loses ground,

She does this for me.

She says she loves me

but never sees,

We're doomed to ever be.

She tries and tries

but never succeeds,

can't see the reasons for this flaw,

I'm of the dead, and she still lives...

tries and tries so hard it makes her cry,

as I show her this,

she screams "no",

and turns away...

tries and tries so much it makes her cry,

she doesn't believe,

in what I am..

out of the mind

memories past

she never sees why

although I see,

never wants to believe,

she'll do anything to make me real,

she would die for me,

as I want to be free,

she tries so had she dies,

the memories wash away,

and now she sees.
